BLOOD ORANGE VAMPIRE PUNCH

Blood Orange Vampire Punch image

Steps:

  • Make the simple syrup: Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.
  • Combine the blood orange juice, cherry juice, lemon juice, chilled simple syrup and 2 cups cold water in a pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 30 minutes.
  • Just before serving, stir the tequila into the punch, if using. Decorate the rim of the pitcher with red gel icing, allowing some to drip down the side. Serve over ice.

1 cup tart cherry juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from 2 to 3 lemons)
1 cup tequila or mezcal (optional)

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher mix the orange Kool Aid mix with 1 cup of white sugar and fill with water. Then, pour the Kool Aid into 2 ice cube trays and place in the freezer overnight. There will be left over Kool Aid, which you can serve at the party too. In a large punch bowl pour in the can of pineapple juice. Pour in one 2 liter of Sprite. Add the tub of Orange Sherbet into the liquid mix using an ice cream scoop. Finally add your Kool Aid ice cubes into the punch. Mix all the ingredients together. Let the sherbet and ice cubes melt for a bit. This will add more orange flavor to the punch.
