PAULA DEEN'S EASY SQUEEZE HONEY BUTTER

From Paula's Home Cooking television show. So simple and wonderful; the honey butter combo is just right--not too sweet! Note: 2/13/07 when making this recipe, I use Original Parkay squeeze butter/margarine. I live in Texas and this product is readily available at grocery stores in my area.

Steps:

  • Open squeeze bottle and pour out about 1/4 of the butter and store for later use.
  • Add honey and stir with a long teaspoon or a wooden skewer.
  • Squeeze onto hot biscuits.
  • Enjoy because it is very tasty!

1 (12 ounce) bottle of squeeze margarine
1/4 cup honey (to taste)

  • Cream butter until light and fluffy; gradually add honey, beating well.
  • Beat in lemon rind.
  • Chill butter mixture several hours or overnight.

Paula's Fried Biscuits and Honey Butter image

Steps:

  • In a heavy deep skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium high.
  • When oil is hot, carefully add in the biscuits and cook about 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown (don't do too many biscuits at once, or the oil will lose temperature too quickly).
  • Remove biscuits from oil and drain on paper towels; repeat steps until all biscuits are done.
  • Make the honey "butter": remove about 1/4 of the squeeze margarine from the bottle and store for later use; add the honey and stir with a long teaspoon (like the ones for ice cream shakes), a wooden skewer, or the handle of a wooden spoon.
  • Serve the biscuits with the honey butter.
