Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease two 9 inch round cake pans.
- Make cake per directions except substitute the 1 1/2 cups of strawberries for the water and add 1 extra egg, (if cake mix calls for 2 eggs add 3), and 8 ounces of the cream cheese at room temperature. Beat well and pour into the prepared pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center will not come out clean when this cake is done since it is so moist. Let cake cool fully before frosting.
- To Make Frosting: Heat the heavy cream until just beginning to boil. Pour it over the white chocolate (chopped) and the remaining 4 ounces cream cheese. Mix well and let cool. Once cool fold into the whipped topping. Use to frost cooled cake and garnish with sliced fresh strawberries.

PAULINE'S DATE NUT CAKE
The smell of the Test Kitchen was so amazing while this date nut cake baked, I anxiously awaited the timer to go off so I could have a taste. The combination of dates and nuts is amazing and they're evenly distributed throughout the cake. I was curious how the cake was going to turn out since there is no liquid added. The very...

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prepare a 9-inch springform or round cake pan, greased and lined with baking parchment.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk the eggs, granulated sugar and vanilla sugar on a high speed for a few minutes, until white and light. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, sift the flour and baking powder together.
- Carefully fold the flour into the egg mixture. Mix the milk with the melted butter in a jug/pitcher and carefully pour into the batter, folding it in until incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until almost done (try not to open the oven door for the first 20 minutes of the total baking time).
- To make the topping, put all the ingredients in a saucepan and gently melt together.
- Remove the cake from the oven and carefully spread the topping all over the cake. Return to the oven. Turn up the heat to 400°F and bake for a further 5 minutes.
- Leave cake to cool before eating, if you can (we are well aware it's hard to do that).

PLUM CAKE
Italian plums are good to eat, but even better to bake with. They aren't quite as juicy or sweet as their American cousins, but they keep their shape well and their skin adds a gorgeous purple color to tarts and cakes. The brown sugar cake batter and sweet crumb topping are a perfect complement to the not-too-sweet fruit. It is great for breakfast with a cup of tea and/or with ice cream after dinner. This is a cake that also seems to get better the second day, if there is any left.

Yield One 8-inch cake

Steps:
- To make the cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch springform pan with butter.
- In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream together the butter and brown sugar, until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl after each. Mix in the zest and vanilla. In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture and mix on low speed until just combined. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Place half of the cut plums on the batter, cut-side up. Spread the remaining batter over the plums. Spread the batter into an even layer and top with remaining plums.
- To make the topping: In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and melted butter. You may have to mix it with your hands to get all the butter incorporated.
- Spread the crumb topping over the plums evenly.
- Place the cake on two stacked cookie sheets, to prevent the bottom from getting too brown during the long baking time. Bake for about 1 hour 15 minutes or until a tester come out clean. Cool on a rack.
- Serve it slightly warm or at room temperature.

PAULA DEEN'S CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE RECIPE - (3.7/5)
Provided by cwyorkiex3
Number Of Ingredients 8
Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan (I like to use the nonstick spray that is especially for baking... with the flour mixed into it). 2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer until well combined. Add in sugar and continue to mix for about 6 minutes, until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition, until well blended. Gradually add the flour, beating and scraping down the sides until it is all incorporated. Mix in salt and extracts. 3. Pour into prepared pan. Hit the pan gently on the counter about 5 times to help settle the batter and remove any air pockets. Bake for about 1 1/2 hours. The cake is done when it pulls away from the sides of the pan and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. 4. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Invert the cake onto a wire rack and let cool completely before serving. Serves: 12 Tips *To make a simple berry topping, mix two or three kinds of berries with just a spoonful of sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice. Whip some heavy whipping cream, and serve a slice of this cake with freshly whipped cream and berries.
ORANGE DREAM CAKE
I got this recipe from Allrecipes.com It was submitted by "Pauline" I made it for dessert on Christmas day. It is very good! The cake is nice and moist without having an overpowering orange taste. You can use any kind of frosting/icing on this cake or even sprinkle powdered sugar on it. I used a can of Cream Cheese frosting on mine. I made this cake in a bundt cake pan. I do not know how it will turn out in a 9x13x2 inch cake pan or (2) 9 inch round cake pans. Prep and bake times are approximate.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350F (or 175C) Grease and flour a bundt cake pan and set aside.
- Dump cake mix, jello powder and Dream Whip powder in a large mixing bowl.
- Stir together until well mixed.
- Add oil, milk and eggs and mix for 3 minutes with an electric mixer.
- Pour into prepared bundt cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake.
- When the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is done.
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
- Place a dinner or cake plate, bottom side up, on top of the cake pan.
- Turn over and lightly shake the pan to help loosen the cake from it.
- You might be able to feel the cake loosen from the pan.
- While cake is still warm (but not hot) spread a light layer of the frosting on the side and top of the cake.
- This will result in a nice glaze effect on the cake.
- Or you can allow the cake to completely cool and frost it like you would normally frost a cake.
