Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dog Biscuits Recipes

Steps:

• 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Mix together dry ingredients. Mix in the peanut butter and hot water. You may need to add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
• 2. Knead dough well. Roll the dough into 1/4" thickness and cut into shapes with dog cookie cutters.
• 3. OPTIONAL: Egg wash (one egg whisked with a fork and then brushed on with a pastry brush) on the treats before I baked them. It gives them a nice sheen once they're baked. Here's how they look before baking.
• 4. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. Turn off the oven and let them cool overnight.
• 5. If you and your dog can't wait that long, cool them completely on a wire rack before serving. Instead of cutting out more shapes with the left over peanut butter and oatmeal dough, I rolled it into balls. Then I made a cross hatch fork mark on the dog cookies. This is the same way you would do for human peanut butter cookies. After: The cookies get very hard, just the way dogs like them!
• 6. Storing: This peanut butter dog biscuit recipe makes biscuits that will last in a sealed air tight container at room temperature for one week. You can store them in the refrigerator for 3 weeks and in the freezer for up to 6 months.

• mix together flour,oatmeal, and peanut butter.
• add hot water to make firm dough. Use more water if dough is too dry.
• Knead dough on a floured surface. a counter works well.
• Roll dough with a rolling pin or flatten with your hands until it is about a 1/4 inch thick. Keep a little flour in case the rolling pin or your hands get sticky.
• cut dough with your favorite cookie cutter.
• grease a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
• place biscuits on cookie sheet.
• bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes
• let biscuits cool for an hour and put in the fridge.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375 and lightly grease a baking sheet or pizza pan.
• In a medium mixing bowl (large if doubling recipe) add flour, baking powder, and oatmeal. Mix together.
• Add peanut butter and milk. Stir until a dough forms.
• Place dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it out until it's about 1/4 inch thick.
• Use desired cookie cutter or pizza cutter (I like a pizza cutter to make different sizes) and cut dough into desired shapes and sizes. Optional- Use 1 whisked egg for an egg wash to make the biscuits shiny.
• Bake on the lightly greased baking pan for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack. They will harden up when cooled to make a nice crunchy treat!
