There's a quick and easy method to peel them that will make the task both simpler and faster.

PEARL ONIONS • EASIEST WAY TO PEEL image

Steps:

  • In a saucepan with boiling water, add the pearl onions with their skin on.
  • Set the timer for 3 minutes.
  • When time is up, remove from the heat and drain them in a colander.
  • To stop the cooking process, rinse them thoroughly under cold water - if you want, you can transfer them to an ice bath.
  • Let them sit to drain further more.
  • Using a paring knife, cut off both ends and peel off the skin
