- In a saucepan, combine 2 cups half-and-half cream, eggs and sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture reaches 160° or is thick enough to coat a metal spoon, about 9 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla, nutmeg if desired and remaining half-and-half. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours., Pour into a punch bowl. Stir in whipping cream and soda. Top with scoops of ice cream and sprinkle with cherries. Serve immediately.

- 2. Combine eggnog and ice cream in punch bowl.
- 3. Break ice cream into smaller pieces.
- 4. When ready to serve, pour ginger ale over slowly; stir.
- 5. As the punch goes down, we just add more of each item. Easy to double or make as many servings as you need.
- 6. We serve in small punch cups that the children enjoy holding and they come back often for more.
PEPPERMINT PUNCH
This recipe came from a lady in our electric co-op. They produce a monthly magazine that has all kinds of interesting things and the recipe pages are wonderful Kentucky dishes. This one happened to be for a the lady's daughter's wedding. It'd be great for the holidays too.

Steps:
- Chop the candy canes in a food processor to get them fine enough. Place the softened ice cream and strawberry preserves in a punch bowl. Mix well.
- When serving, add the soda and sprinkle in the crushed candy canes on top and stir.
- Unwrap the whole candy canes and hang on the sides of the punch bowl with the ends inside.
