POKER CHIP COOKIES

You'll know how to hold them (how to snack on them!) when you use edible markers to create this fun poker night treat.

Steps:

  • Line cookie sheet with waxed paper.
  • Melt candy melts as directed on bag. Stir in oil.
  • Dip sandwich cookies into melted candy mixture. Let excess drip off; place on cookie sheet. Let stand until candy is firm, about 20 minutes.
  • Using paint brush, brush corn syrup around edge of each cookie. Roll edges in sugar crystals.
  • With edible markers, draw numbers on cookies to resemble poker chips. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Stir vanilla extract into creamy mixture. Mix flour and crushed potato chips into the mixture until just incorporated. Fold chopped walnuts into the dough. Roll dough into 1-inch balls; press onto prepared baking sheets and flatten gently.
  • Bake in preheated oven until golden around the edges, 10 to 13 minutes.

Steps:

  • Combine flour and garlic dressing mix in a large resealable plastic bag. Set aside.
  • Rinse and dry potatoes. Using a mandoline slicer, cut thinly into round disks. Starting with sweet potatoes, add about half of the slices to the seasoned flour. Shake in bag. Arrange on a sheet pan and repeat with remaining potatoes. Chill seasoned potatoes for about 20 minutes.
  • Pour oil into a large, heavy-bottomed Dutch oven until it is a little less than halfway up the sides of the pot. Heat oil to 375 degrees F.
  • In small batches, fry potatoes until crisp. Drain on paper towels season with salt and pepper, to taste. Repeat with the rest of the potato chips.

2 medium sweet potatoes, sliced thinly
2 large red skin potatoes, sliced thinly
Vegetable oil, for deep frying

  • Cream together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix in the flour and potato chips and stir well.
