GARLIC DILL RANCH OYSTER CRACKERS
My wonderful aunt[she passed last year at 93 years of age; sharp as a tack right up to the end.] introduced me to these in the mid '80s or 90s. She gratiously gave me the recipe and I have made them often since esp. for CHRISTMAS TIME along with CHEX Mix. Be forewarned. they are addictive and you won't be able to stop munching on...

Steps:
- 1. Place first 4 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Stir and thoroughly combine with a wire whisk. Dump crackers into seasoning mixture. Stir until all crackers are coated.
- 2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. While oven is heating, spoon coated crackers into an even layer onto a large baking sheet that has raised sides all around.
- 3. Place the baking sheet and crackers into preheated oven and bake for 1 hr. remove crackers from oven and cool. Store cooled crackers in airtight containers. I find that the large containers flavored popcorn comes in or the ones that butter cookies come in work great.

RANCH SNACK MIX
Capturing the creamy tang of ranch in a dry snack mix can be elusive, but it is possible. Adding vinegar to the melted butter that coats the ingredients in this recipe, and hitting it with buttermilk powder both before and after baking infuses everything with both of those flavor notes.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 250˚ F. Combine the buttermilk, onion and garlic powders, dill, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
- Combine the cereal, crackers, chips, almonds and sesame sticks in a large bowl and toss.
- Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium-low heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the vinegar. Pour about half of the butter mixture over the cereal mixture and toss, then pour in the remaining butter mixture and toss again until everything is well coated and there is no butter at the bottom of the bowl. Add half of the spice mix and toss to coat.
- Spread the cereal mixture on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake, stirring occasionally, until dry, crisp and lightly toasted but not browned, 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from the oven and toss with the pretzels and remaining spice mix. Set aside to cool, stirring occasionally.
DILL RANCH SNACK CRACKERS
My entire family loves this recipe! My husband got this recipe from a friend at hunting camp, and it is by far a favorite in our home as well as friends and neighbors. It tastes great in soups and salads, and perfect for a grab and go snack! It may sound like it would be oily, but it isn't.
