Our Test Kitchen developed this spicy, salt-free alternative to packaged taco seasoning. Stir it into dips or ground beef, sprinkle on chicken or wherever you want a Southwestern flair.

- In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1 year.

PERFECT TACO SEASONING
This is a combination of several different taco seasoning recipes. I took the best of each recipe to make this one. Hope you like it.

- Use 3 to 4 Tablespoons of mix and 1/4 cup of water per pound of meat.

REALLY GOOD TACO SEASONING
I got this recipe from a magazine (don't know which kind) while waiting for a haircut. It's just like the name suggests. I think this is more flavorful than storebought seasoning. It also has less salt. Use it on chicken, ground beef, or taco meat. The original recipe needed some spice (I like spicy food), so I added chipotle and cayenne pepper. Yum!

- Mix well shaking.
- Store in a cool dry place for up to 6 months.
- Makes about 21 teaspoons (about 1/2 cup ). 7 teaspoons equal a 1.25 oz pkg. of purchased taco seasoning.
