GRANDMA FLO'S SHIPWRECK
You can't go wrong with meat and potatoes, and this recipe combines them in one dish. The recipe was given to my husband by a friend at work who brought it for lunch often. I usually double it for my family; my husband works in a giant tire factory, and has an appetite to match. The smell makes it hard to wait for it to finish baking.

SHIPWRECK BAKED BEAN CASSEROLE
This is a family fave and a bit different then the other ones posted. Cooking time includes browning the ground beef and is approximate. As stated in a review I forgot to add salt and pepper in the ingredient list.So add to taste. Use whatever kind of potatoes you have on hand. I have used red, Yukon Gold etc.

SHIPWRECK
I'm not sure of the origin of this recipe's name. But we ate this inexpensive meal frequently while I was growing up.-Cary Letsche, Brandenton, Florida

- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef, onion and garlic until the beef is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the chili powder, salt, oregano, cumin and cayenne.
- In the prepared baking dish, layer half of the potatoes to cover the bottom of the pan (overlapping some is fine). Season the potatoes with a little bit of salt and pepper. Top with half of the beef mixture, half of the beans and half of the bacon. Pour one can of soup over top. Repeat the layers once more, starting with potatoes (seasoned with salt and pepper), then beef, beans, bacon and soup.
- Cover with foil and bake 1 hour. Remove foil, sprinkle the cheese and buttered Corn Flakes on top, and return to the oven (uncovered) for about 10-15 more minutes (or until the cheese is melted, the topping is golden brown, and the potatoes are tender). Garnish with fresh parsley just before serving.
