SIMPLY GLAZED STEAK

Don't let the simplicity fool you. This glazed steak has some seriously complex flavors, thanks to our custom blend of secret ingredients.

Simply Glazed Steak image

Steps:

  • Mix dressing, mustard, steak sauce and pepper in shallow dish. Add steak; turn to evenly coat both sides. Let stand 15 min. to marinate, turning occasionally.
  • Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on rack of broiler pan.
  • Broil, 6 inches from heat source, 4 min. on each side or to medium doneness (160ºF). Let stand 5 min. before cutting across the grain into thin slices to serve.

SIMPLY GLAZED STEAK

When there is no time to grill, nothing is easier and more satisfying than a broiled steak. Marinate boneless beef sirloin in balsamic vinaigrette mixed with spicy mustard, A.1. Original Steak Sauce, and cracked black pepper and broil to your liking. Serve the juicy and savory steak with potatoes and steamed broccoli or a summery spinach salad.

This was the way my Grandma Ruth would make ham steaks for a nice lunch. They go well with potato salad and corn on the cob (I think they go well with any sides!).

Ruth's Simple Glazed Ham Steaks image

Steps:

  • Trim the fat around the edges of the ham steaks.
  • Melt the apple jelly in a large skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add mustard and pepper; mix in well.
  • Place ham steaks into skillet and spoon sauce over them to cover.
  • Cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes per side, basting often.
  • Turn out ham to a serving platter.
  • Cut into serving size pieces as desired.

2 large ham steaks (about 1/2 inch thick each)
1 cup apple jelly
2/3 cup prepared yellow mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
