Steps:

  • Step 1. Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix apples and cinnamon to coat. Place in slow cooker. Step 2. In medium bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, flour and butter with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Stir in pecans and toffee bits. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples. Step 3. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours. Serve apple crisp with ice cream. Note: If you'd like the apple slices to retain their shape and have a slightly firm texture, use the low end of the cook time range.

Steps:

  • Mix flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl. Combine butter with the flour mixture using fingers or a fork until coarse crumbs form. Stir in walnuts and set aside.
  • Whisk together 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Place the apples in a slow cooker, stir in the cornstarch mixture; toss with lemon juice. Sprinkle the walnut crumb topping on top. Cover and cook on High for 2 hours or Low for 4 hours, until apples are tender.   • Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 1 1/2-quart casserole with cooking spray. In small bowl, mix water and 1 teaspoon almond extract. In casserole, toss with apples.
