Steps:

Cut wings into 3 sections; discard wing tip sections. Place chicken in a 4-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken; stir until coated. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours or until chicken juices run clear. If desired, serve with ranch dressing and celery stalks.

1-1/2 cups ketchup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

1. Place the chicken wings in the crock pot.
2. In a large bowl whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire, brown sugar, honey, garlic, sriracha, ginger, pepper and onion powder. Pour over the wings and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours. Stirring once in a while to make sure wings are coated in sauce.
3. Remove wings from crock pot. Pour the sauce into a saucepan. mix the cornstarch with the water. Bring sauce to a boil and stir in the cornstarch . Cook until thickened. Pour over chicken wings and sprinkle with black sesame seeds and garnish with cilantro.

4 clove garlic minced
1 to 2 Tbsp sriracha sauce

Steps:

Heat oil in skillet.
Add chicken and brown on all sides.
While chicken is browning, make sauce by combining garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, chicken broth, lemon juice, and cayenne in a mixing bowl.
Remove browned chicken from skillet and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Place chicken into crock pot and cover with sauce.
Cover and cook on low for 4-8 hours or until chicken is done, depending on your crock pot.
Remove chicken from crock pot and turn crock pot to High.
Mix corn starch and water thoroughly together, then add to crock pot liquid.
Place cover on crock pot so that the lid is slightly ajar.
Cook until sauce thickens, about 20-30 minutes.
Return chicken to crock pot to coat, then serve either alone or over a bed of rice and topped with sauce.

I love traditional "buffalo" wings, but like to try new ways to make them. I found this recipe on Southernfoods.about.com (supposedly one of Zaar's competitors but not in my view). I screened the wing recipes on Zaar's site but didn't find any duplicates. I know you'll like the simplicity and taste of this wing variation as much as we did.

Spicy Crock-Pot Chicken Wings image

Steps:

Spread wings in a single layer on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Mix sauce ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
Broil wings, 4 inches away from heat, until nicely browned (about 10 minutes).
Turn wings, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and broil until browned as above.
Place browned wings in a crockpot.
Pour sauce over wings.
Cook 2 1/2 hours on high or 4-5 hours on low.
Serve with french fries or, if you prefer, rice.
