4 Minute Spicy Garlic Shrimp image

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan, garlic, red pepper flakes and shrimp. Season with grill seasoning or salt and pepper and cook shrimp 3 minutes or until just pink. Toss with lemon zest, juice and chopped parsley. Remove shrimp to a serving platter leaving the garlic cloves in the pan.

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan
4 cloves garlic, crushed away from skin
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
24 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails in tact, ask for easy peels at your fish counter
2 teaspoons grill or steak seasoning blend (recommended: Montreal Seasoning by McCormick) or coarse salt and pepper
1 lemon, zested and juiced
2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves, a handful

SPICY LEMON GARLIC SHRIMP

These spicy and savoury shrimp are wonderful served with a salad, angel hair pasta or plain white rice. I'm not really sure of the times...but it is a quick recipe.

Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp image

Steps:

  • 1. In a sauté pan over medium/high heat, combine the butter and olive oil. When the butter is melted, add the hot pepper flakes (or chili pepper) and onion. Sauté for 2 minutes or until the onions are softened.
  • 2. Add the lemon zest, tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Sauté for another 2 minutes.
  • 3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper to taste. Add a splash of lemon juice. Cook for 1 minute more.
  • 4. Transfer to warm plate and serve the shrimp topped with the basil chiffonade and lemon slices.

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes or 1/2 a red chili pepper, finely chopped
1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 plum tomato, seeded, finely chopped
2 tablespoons dry white wine
20 medium-large shrimp
salt & pepper
1 splash lemon juice
3 basil leaves, chiffonade (strips,sliced thinly)
lemon slice (to garnish)

Found this shrimp recipe in an ad for Wild American Shrimp. Prep time does not include 1 hour to marinate. Meant to be an appetizer for 4 but could be main dish for 2.

Spicy Garlic and Lemon Crusted Shrimp image

Steps:

  • Combine shrimp, garlic, shallots, black pepper, salt, lmeon zest and juice, thyme sprigs, Worcestershire, hot sauce, and beer in a large bowl. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour and up to 6 hours.
  • Heat a 12-inch skillet over moderately high heat until hot, then add 2 tablespoons of the butter and the shrimp and marinade all at once, stirring constantly. Cook for 4 minutes or until the shrimp is pink and the bits of garlic are golden brown.
  • Remove shrimp from the pan and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. (The sauce should have a thick consistency.).
  • Spoon the sauce over the shrimp. Serve over pasta or rice or with warm crusty bread.
