Steps:

  • 1. preheat oven to 275 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a dutch oven. Bake covered (NO PEEKING) for 5 hours.

1 can(s) beef consomme
1 can(s) condensed tomato soup
1 1/2 lb lean stew beef - cut into chunks
1 large onion - cut into chunks
6 medium potatoes - peeled cut into cubes
3 carrots, cubed
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 Tbsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • Brown beef. Place all ingredients in a 3 quart-size casserole dish with a tight fitting lid. Bake at 275 for 5 hours.

2-3 lbs of beef (rump roast or family steak are good choices)
2 medium onions-sliced
2 large potatoes-sliced
1 cup carrots-diced
1 small can of peas(drained) 1/2 pkg frozen
1 can tomato soup 1/2 can of water
1 tsp salt
optional: bay leaf

Steps:

  • Throw beef stew chunks, carrots, potatoes and onion into a heavy dutch oven with a lid. Open the soup and pour over meat and veggies. Do not dilute. Throw bay leaf on top of soup. Salt and pepper to taste. Don't mix or add water or other liquid. Cover. Place in a preheated 250 degree oven for 5 hours. Go take a nap and in 5 hours be prepared to eat the most delicious stew with the tastiest brown gravy you've ever had!

1 pound beef stew
1 small yellow onion peeled and halved
4-6 carrots peeledled and roughly chopped
4-6 potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
1 can Campbell's cream of tomato soup
salt and pepper to taste
1 large bay leaf

Steps:

  • 1. In a plastic bag, combine flour, salt and pepper. Add beef chunks, several pieces at a time, and shake to coat. Save remaining flour.
  • 2. Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a Dutch Oven heat the oil over medium-high heat and brown the beef, onions and garlic together. Gradually stir in the broth, tomatoes, Worcestershire Sauce, thyme and kosher salt. Cover and bake in pre-heated oven for 1 1/4 hours.
  • 3. Add the potatoes, carrots, celery (and turnips, if using). Cover and bake 1 hour longer or until meat and veggies are tender.
  • 4. Thicken with reserved flour that you've stirred with a bit of water. Cover and cook on stovetop until thickened, about 10 - 15 minutes. Stir in thawed peas; cover and let stand for 5 minutes.

1 14-oz. cans diced tomatoes

1 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp dried thyme
3 medium potatoes, peeled, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 medium carrots, cut into 1/4 inch slices
2 ribs celery, sliced in 3/4 inch slices
1 c frozen peas, thawed
~~ optional: 2 med. turnips, grated, or cut into 1 inch cubes
