- Tear the lettuce into bite-size pieces and add to a salad bowl. Slice the strawberries and add to the lettuce. Mix the dressing in your blender, adding poppy seeds after you have blended it. Drizzle the salad with the dressing and top with the almonds.
STRAWBERRY ROMAINE SALAD I
For my wedding shower everyone brought a few recipes and this is one of my favorites. It is refreshing and pretty. This salad also travels well, just save the dressing and use it just before serving.

- In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine, spinach, strawberries and sliced onion.
- In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, milk and poppy seeds. Shake well and pour the dressing over salad. Toss until evenly coated.

Meet the Cook: One reason I particularly like this recipe is that it's so versatile. I've served the salad with poultry, ham and pork all throughout the year and even used it to add color to the table at Christmas. Recently, when I brought this for a dinner at church, one lady asked if she could take home the little that was left for her husband's lunch the next day - and he very rarely eats salad or fruit.
