Steps:
- Mix cream cheese and sour cream together in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in microwave until softened and easy to stir, about 30 seconds.
- Stir Cheddar cheese into cream cheese mixture and heat in microwave until dip is smooth, 30 to 40 seconds. Stir. Heat in microwave for another 10 seconds if needed.

This recipe came from my Aunt Sandy who would always make this tasty dip for family gatherings. It's really addictive! It's so good with raw veggies, crackers, and chips and best of all it's super easy.

- Whisk cheese sauce, salad dressing, sour cream, and dry onion soup mix in a large bowl. Transfer dip to serving dish. Refrigerate until cold, about 20 minutes.

- Place the bowl in the microwave and cook it for 1 minute. Stir the dip and microwave it for another 30 seconds and stir again. Cook it for 30 seconds more and stir it again. At this point, it should be smooth, but if it’s not, continue cooking it for 30-second increments and stirring until it is smooth.

Stir in chiles and salt, cooking just until heated through, 1 to 2 minutes. Add half-and-half, and continue stirring until warmed throughout and beginning to steam, about 5 minutes.
- Toss together cheeses and cornstarch in a small bowl. Reduce heat to medium, and add cheese, 1 handful at a time, whisking after each addition. Once fully melted and smooth, remove from heat. Serve immediately with tortilla chips. Add additional stir-ins, if desired.
