A quick, easy, sweet-tasting pasta sauce that can be used for anything from spaghetti to lasagna. Serve right away or freeze.

Steps:
- Heat olive oil in a small pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in water, tomato paste, sugar, bacon, salt, basil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until flavors combine, about 30 minutes.

SWEET PASTA FOR DINNER OR DESSERT
This is from Giada De Laurentis - slightly modified. It is really tasty. If you like the flavors of chocolate and orange - this is for you! I know - it's pasta and seems strange, but really - just try it! You can use less chocolate for a garnish or the full amount for a fuller chocolate flavor. I added the full amount (actually used mini semi-sweet morsels) and served the pasta as a dessert course. I also used a very large orange and added a bit more honey during the heating process.

Steps:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.
- In a large, heavy skillet heat the cream, zests, honey, and salt over medium heat, being careful not to boil the cream. Stir occasionally for about 4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add the pasta to the pot of boiling water and cook until tender, stirring occasionally for 2-3 minutes.
- Drain the pasta and it to the skillet with the cream sauce.
- Add the lemon juice and stir to combine.
- Place the pasta in serving dishes. Shave chocolate directly on top pasta (use a vegetable peeler) and sprinkle with hazelnuts, if desired.

EASTER PIE
Giada's Italian rice pie is the perfect dessert for your Easter celebration or any time of year.

- Blend 3/4 cup of powdered sugar, eggs, vanilla, orange zest and ricotta in a food processor until smooth. Stir in the rice and pine nuts. Set the ricotta mixture aside.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Lightly butter a 9-inch glass pie dish. Lay 1 phyllo sheet over the bottom and up the sides of the dish, allowing the phyllo to hang over the sides. Brush the phyllo with the melted butter. Top with a second sheet of phyllo dough, laying it in the opposite direction as the first phyllo sheet. Continue layering the remaining sheets of phyllo sheets, alternating after each layer and buttering each sheet. Spoon the ricotta mixture into the dish. Fold the overhanging phyllo dough over the top of the filling to enclose it completely. Brush completely with melted butter.
- Bake the pie until the phyllo is golden brown and the filling is set, about 35 minutes. Transfer the pan to a rack and cool completely. Sift powdered sugar over the pie and serve.
