TERIYAKI GRILLED SHRIMP

The perfect balance of sweet and heat come together in this recipe. The shrimp take on the flavor quickly and also cook fast so dinner can be on the table in no time. Serve over rice if desired.

Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp image

Steps:

  • Whisk soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, Sriracha, sesame oil, and garlic powder together in a bowl until fully blended. Transfer to a small saucepan and cook on medium heat until teriyaki sauce is slightly thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • Place shrimp in a shallow dish. Pour 3/4 of the teriyaki sauce over the shrimp and let marinate for 30 minutes. Reserving the remaining sauce for basting.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill. Thread shrimp onto skewers.
  • Grill skewers for 3 minutes. Flip, brush reserved sauce over the shrimp, and grill 3 minutes more.

Plum Dipping Sauce for Shrimp image

Steps:

  • Place the plums in a blender or food processor. Add the water and mix at high speed until the plums are pureed. Pour the puree into a 1-quart saucepan. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes to reduce the sauce. If necessary, add cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
  • Remove from heat. Add sugar, to taste. Serve hot or cold.

Teriyaki Shrimp with Hot Plum Sauce image

Steps:

  • Peel and devein shrimp; place in a large bowl.
  • Combine the oil and the next 5 ingredients; pour the marinade ingredients over the shrimp. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet until limp, but not crisp. Drain and set aside.
  • Remove the shrimp from the marinade, discarding the marinade. Wrap 1 bacon slice around each shrimp, securing with a wooden pick.
  • Place on a rack in a roasting pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink and the bacon is crisp. Serve immediately with the Hot Plum Sauce.
  • Hot Plum Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a wok over medium heat. Add shrimp, garlic, garlic powder, and ginger. Cook until shrimp are opaque, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add brown sugar and sesame seeds. Blend in white wine, teriyaki sauce, and teriyaki marinade and bring to a boil. Add frozen vegetables and return to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook until vegetables are heated through and tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Serve stir-fry over a bed of rice.

Steps:

  • In a skillet heat up 1 tbsp vegetable oil and saute the onion, shallot, and garlic until translucent. Remove and set aside.
  • Add remainder of vegetable oil, butter, and heat. Add shrimp, teriyaki, and hoisin and saute until mostly cooked.
  • Add broccoli and cook until heated throughout but not crunchy. Return onion, shallot, and garlic.
