Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450.
  • In medium bowl stir together flour, cheese, rosemary, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt.
  • Drain tomatoes; finely chop.
  • In a small bowl combine milk and olive oil.
  • With a fork, stir milk mixture and chopped tomatoes into flour mixture just until moistened.
  • On well floured surface knead dough 10 to 12 strokes or until smooth.
  • Roll dough to 16x8-inch rectangle.
  • Cut 32 (8x1/2inch) strips.
  • Twist pairs of strips together.
  • Place on parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Brush with additional milk.
  • Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until golden.
  • Cool on racks.

Roasted Tomatoes with Bread Crumbs image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Put the tomato halves in a lightly buttered baking dish, cut-side up, drizzle with olive oil , honey, and sprinkle with panko bread crumbs and paprika. Season the tomatoes with salt and pepper and roast for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the tomatoes from the oven and sprinkle with parsley. Drizzle with olive oil.

6 plum tomatoes, halved lengthwise
Unsalted butter, for greasing baking dish
Olive oil, for drizzling
Honey, for drizzling
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 cup panko (Japanese) bread crumbs
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, to garnish

Steps:

  • In bread machine pan, place the first nine ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). , When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide into 20 portions. Shape each into a ball; roll each into a 9-in. rope. Place on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 40 minutes or until doubled. , Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Brush warm breadsticks with butter.

Brush with melted (real) butter mixed with minced garlic and then sprinkle with kosher salt. Fold in half and cut into 1 inch strips. Twist and place on a cooking sheet. Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes to raise. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately after baking, brush with more garlic butter (optional: mix in a little basil and oregano with the butter) and sprinkle with kosher salt and grated parmesan cheese.
  • Dough also makes a great pizza dough, just roll out into a large circle, add your favorite toppings, and bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Brown about a Tbsp of minced garlic in olive oil in the bottom of a sauce pan. Add 1 small can of tomato paste, 1 small can tomato sauce, and 1 tomato, lightly blended. Then add 2 tsp. basil and 2 tsp. oregano and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for half an hour.
