AIR FRYER BAKED POTATOES

These air-fryer baked potatoes are fluffy and tender on the inside, yet perfectly crispy on the outside. Plus, you don't have to turn on your oven! We loaded these up, topping them with shredded Cheddar, sour cream and sliced scallions, but a simple pat of butter would be just as delicious.

Air Fryer Baked Potatoes image

Steps:

  • Toss the potatoes with the oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper in a medium bowl until evenly coated.
  • Preheat a 3.5-quart air fryer to 400 degrees F, then place the potatoes in the air fryer basket. Cook until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, flipping halfway through, 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Cut each potato in half lengthwise and season with a pinch of salt. Top with Cheddar, sour cream and scallions.

2 russet potatoes (about 8 ounces each), scrubbed
2 teaspoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Rub potatoes with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley. Place potatoes in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook in the preheated air fryer until potatoes are soft, 40 to 50 minutes, depending on potato size.
  • Slice potatoes lengthwise. Pinch both sides of each potato, using your hands and forcing potatoes to open up, until the fluffy insides come up. Place 1 tablespoon of butter into each potato.

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. Scrub potatoes; pierce each several times with a fork. In a small bowl, mix butter, garlic, salt and pepper. Rub potatoes with butter mixture. Steps:

  • Scrub the potatoes, then pat dry with kitchen paper. Transfer to a plate, drizzle over the oil and rub it into the skins using your hands so the potatoes are well-coated. Season with salt and pepper - the salt will help the skins crisp up.
  • Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in an air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 200C and cook for 40-50 mins, or until a sharp knife goes through the potatoes easily. Check the potatoes after 20 mins - if they seem to be browning too quickly on one side, turn them over using tongs, then check again after another 20 mins to ensure they're cooked through. When ready, the skin should be crisp and the inside tender and fluffy. Split and serve immediately with the toppings of your choice.
