- Preheat oven to 325F degrees. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or 12-cup Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix together the dry cake mix, dry pudding mix, eggs, cold water, oil and rum. Pour batter over nuts. Bake 1 hour, or until cake tests done. Cool. Invert on serving plate. Prick top all over with a toothpick. Drizzle and smooth glaze evenly over top and sides of cake,repeating until all glaze is absorbed. Makes 16 servings. Glaze Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Bring to a boil and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in rum.

This Bacardi rum cake is lovely and moist. I usually make it around New Years, makes a nice looking dessert for a buffet and the taste is rich and wonderful. From a magazine add, many years ago.

Steps:
- Sprinkle nuts over bottom of greased 10 inch tube pan or 12 cup bundt pan.
- Stir together cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil and rum.
- Pour batter over nuts.
- Bake at 325 in oven for 1 hour.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan.
- Invert onto serving plate and prick top.
- Glaze-----------------.
- Melt butter in saucepan.
- Stir in water and sugar.
- Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in rum.
- Brush glaze evenly over top and sides of cake.
- Allow cake to absorb glaze.
- Repeat until glaze is used up.

- Bring to a slow boil and stir constantly for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add: ¼ c Bacardi rum Grease and flower a 10in. tube pan. Sprinkle nuts over the bottom. Mix remaining cake ingredients and pour over nuts. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. Remove from oven and set pan on a wire rack. Prick all over top with a fork, or make small slits with a sharp knife. Pour glaze over cake still in pan and allow to soak in. When cake cools, remove from pan and serve!

- Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F (180 Degrees C). Grease a 10-inch bundt pan with any neutral oil. Make sure to grease all the crevices for the cake to come out easily after baking. Dust the pan with dry flour all over and discard the excess flour. Sprinkle 1 cup crushed walnuts in the base of the pan.
- Whisk ¾ cup unsalted butter and 1 and ½ cup sugar until light and fluffy. I used my stand mixer at medium speed for 5-6 minutes. Keep scraping the sides of the bowl while whisking. You can use a hand mixer to whisk the butter and sugar.
