BAKED SALISBURY STEAK

These tender beef patties were named for Dr. J.H. Salisbury who, in the late 1800s, advocated eating beef three times a day for good health! This recipe is quick, easy and very savory! Serve with hot cooked Rice and a rich Brown Gravy poured over top!

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a large shallow baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, tomatoes, eggs, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well. Shape into 12 (4-inch) round patties. Place in baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes, until evenly brown, and juices run clear. Cook to a minimum of 160 degrees F (73 degrees C).

Simple and Flavorful Salisbury Steak image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, dry soup mix, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl; add about 1/2 the can of beef broth and continue mixing until beef mixture is thoroughly moistened. Divide mixture into six portions and shape into patties.
  • Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat. Brown patties in the hot pot, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Spoon excess grease from the pot.
  • Stir remaining beef broth with cream of mushroom soup and dry mustard in a bowl until smooth; pour over the browned patties.
  • Bake in preheated oven until patties are no longer pink in the center, about 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

  • In a large bowl, combine the oats, eggs, green pepper, celery, onion and salt. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into eight oval patties. In a large skillet, brown patties on both sides; drain., Place patties in an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Combine the soup, water and pepper; pour over beef. Cover and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.

Baked Salisbury Steaks for a crowd image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2. In large bowl, combine the ground beef, oatmeal, egg substitute, salt, Mrs. Dash Garlic Seasoning, pepper and 2/3 Cup of the condensed onion soup.
  • 3. Shape into 10=12 oval patties. Spray non-stick pan with olive oil, or use just enough oil to cover bottom of pan. Brown on both sides over medium high heat. You do not want to crowd the pan when browning, so only do 3-4 steaks at a time, remove from and keep warm while you finish browning the rest. Keep warm while you make the gravy.
  • 4. In medium bowl blend flour and the remaining soup til smooth; add the ketchup, red wine, steak sauce and dry mustard.
  • 5. Place steaks in lightly greased 9X12 baking dish. Pour gravy over the steaks. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes, or until steaks are done, and gravy has thickened.

  • In large bowl, add 1/2 cup of soup, beef, bread crumbs, onion and eggs. Shape firmly into 3 patties, 1/2 inch thick. Sear each patty on both sides in medium hot skillet about 90 seconds per side. Steps:

  • Mix ground sirloin, panko bread crumbs, egg, milk, and 1/2 packet onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper together in a large bowl; shape into 5 patties.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties in hot skillet until browned, 3 to 5 minutes per side.
  • Melt butter in a separate skillet over medium-high heat. Saute mushrooms and onion in melted butter until tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir flour and remaining dry onion soup mix into the mushroom mixture; cook and stir until flour is integrated fully, about 1 minute. Stream beef stock and water over the mushroom mixture while stirring continually; bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium, and cook, stirring frequently, until the liquid thickens, about 5 minutes.
