Steps:

  • Place meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery.
  • Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours.

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the flour, 1 tablespoon of salt, and the pepper. Rub the flour mixture on the beef, making sure it is covered entirely.
  • Heat oil in large skillet. Sear the meat on all sides until golden brown.
  • Transfer meat to a slow cooker. Add the onion, celery, carrot, garlic, tomatoes, wine, bay leaf, and remaining ½ tablespoon salt. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Remove and discard the bay leaf. Stir in the parsley and sage. Serve the stew with your favorite side dish and sprinkle more parsley on top.

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together first five ingredients in a large plastic bag. Mix together first five ingredients in a large plastic bag.Add beef stew chunks, coating well.
  • 2. Place coated meat into a 2 quart slow cooker then top meat with potatoes and carrots.
  • 3. Mix together beef broth and worcestershire sauce, and pour over potatoes.
  • 4. Top with bay leaf,and cover.Cook on low for 6 hours.
  • 5. After cooking remove bay leaf and stir so meat and veggies are combined.Serve with your favorite bread to sop up the juices.

Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight., Drain and discard marinade. In a large saucepan, brown beef in oil. Remove meat and set aside. In the same pan, saute onion until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Add 2 cups beef broth and remaining wine. Return meat to pan., Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, thyme and cayenne. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until vegetables and beef are tender. Discard thyme sprigs., In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and remaining beef broth until smooth. Gradually stir into stew. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

Steps:

  • Season beef cubes to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Melt butter in a heavy medium skillet over high heat; add beef and saute until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  • Using slotted spoon, remove beef to a bowl.
  • Lower heat to medium-low and add carrots and onions, toss to coat with pan juices.
  • Add flour while stirring and continue to stir 1 minute to lightly toast the flour.
  • Stir in broth and ale slowly, then return the beef (and any juices in the bowl) to the pan.
  • Cover and let simmer until beef and carrots are tender, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes or so.
  • Season again with salt and pepper to taste and serve.

Steps:

  • 1. In large Ziploc bag combine flour, pepper, salt and garlic powder. Add stew meat and shake to coat. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add coated stew meat and cook to brown all sides. Remove from heat and add to crock pot.
  • 2. Heat 1-2 more tablespoons vegetable oil in same skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until lightly browned on the edges; approximately 4-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for additional 1 minute; stirring constantly. Add to crock pot on top of beef.
  • 3. Using same skillet add wine over medium low heat working to loosen browned bits on the bottom of the skillet. Reduce the wine by 1/2 while continuing to stir. Add Worcestershire sauce. beef broth, Cajun seasoning, cumin and bay leaf, Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 4. Pour wine/broth mixture over beef and onions in the crock pot.
  • 5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours adding carrots, potatoes and celery halfway through the cooking process. Cook just until meat and vegetables are tender. Remove bay leaf.
