Steps:
- Melt butter or margarine. Add sugar and mix well. Cool.
- Add eggs and vanilla, blend well. Add the rest of the ingredients except the chocolate chips.
- Put into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

Steps:
- Pour sugar into a clean and dry one quart jar. Press down firmly.
- Add cocoa powder and press down firmly. Pour in chopped pecans, making sure pecans are evenly layered in the jar. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Pour into jar and seal.
- Attach the following directions to the jar: Empty mix into large bowl. Use your hands to mix thoroughly. Add 3/4 cup of butter or margarine and 4 slightly beaten eggs. Mix until completely blended. Spread batter into a lightly greased or sprayed 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Cut into 2 inch squares.

- Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt in a quart jar. Layer remaining ingredients in the order listed. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next layer. NOTE: Be sure to wipe out the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel after adding the cocoa powder, so the other layers will show through the glass.
- Attach a tag with the following instructions: Brownie Mix in a Jar 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13inch baking pan. 2. Empty jar of brownie mix into a large mixing bowl, and stir to blend. Mix in 3/4 cup melted butter and 4 eggs. Mix thoroughly. Spread batter evenly into prepared baking pan. 3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely in pan before cutting into 2 inch squares.

- Mix together flour, salt and baking powder.
- Set aside. Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart sized wide mouth canning jar.
- Add flour mixture last. Press each layer firmly in place. Attach this message to jar: Butterscotch Brownies Empty jar of brownie mix into large mixing bowl.
- Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
- Add 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened at room temperature. Do not use DIET margarine. Mix in 2 eggs, slightly beaten and 2 tsps vanilla.
- Mix until completely blended.
- Spread batter into greased 13 X 9 inch metal pan.
- Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 min.
- Cool 15 minutes in pan.
- Cut brownies into 1 1/2 inch squares.
- Cool completely in pan.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
- Measure 1 cup sifted flour. Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sift again. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Mix well and set aside.
- Stir the brown sugar into the melted butter and mix well. Cool slightly.

I like to use a funnel to ensure the layers are neat.For the brownie, after adding the cocoa powder, place something to separate the dark chocolate pieces so that they can be removed on their own without the other dry ingredients. I used the plastic top from a cupcake case container but a piece of baking paper or even a cupcake case will also work.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°FMelt 115 grams of butter in a pyrex jug or in a pot on the stove. Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and whisk together well. Pour in the contents of the jar and stir until well combined. Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop rounded balls of dough (about 2 TBSP) onto a baking tray lined with baking paper or a silicone liner.Bake for 10-12 minutes for soft cookies or 12-14 minutes for crispier cookies.Makes 12 large cookies
