BROILED PORK CHOPS

These zippy, tender chops are one of my mother's specialties. She's been making them for years. I still request this delightful main dish when our family gets together to celebrate birthdays and other occasions. -Lisa Andis, Morristown, Indiana

Broiled Pork Chops image

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the first nine ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside half of the sauce for serving. , Broil about 4-5 in. from the heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 145°, basting occasionally with sauce. Let meat stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with reserved sauce.

3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 boneless pork loin chops (3/4 inch thick and 4 ounces each)

BROILED PORK CHOPS

These are fabulous pork chops. Pork is very lean, and this quick broiling method keeps the meat juicy and succulent. Serve with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes for a complete meal.

Broiled Pork Chops image

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, paprika, chili powder and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside half of the sauce.
  • Preheat broiler.
  • Brush both sides of the chops with sauce. Place chops on broiling pan rack. Broil about 4 inches from the heat for 4 minutes on each side. Brush with more sauce. Continue broiling, turning and basting every 3 to 4 minutes, until juices run clear. Serve with reserved sauce.

Indoor or outdoor cooking and no marinating! Quick and easy and my whole family likes it! This was in an older cookbook of mine and it seems perfect for busy times. I served this with grilled cabbage, potato pancakes and applesauce.

Seasoned Grilled or Broiled Pork Chops image

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients, except the chops, and mix well with small whisk.
  • Brush mixture on chops and either grill by searing on both sides and then cooking more slowly for 30 minutes or until done, brushing chops occasionally with the sauce.
  • Or to broil the chops; place chops on a broiler rack 5" from heat and broil about 12 minutes per side or until done.

Broiled Spiced Pork Chops image

Steps:

  • In a small bowl stir together the salt, the cinnamon, the allspice, the cloves, and pepper to taste. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels, rub the spice mixture on both sides of them, and chill the chops, covered, for 30 minutes. Broil the chops on the oiled rack of a broiler pan under a preheated broiler about 4 inches from the heat for 5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through.
