Green Beans with Brown Butter and Pine Nuts image

Steps:

  • Place green beans with 2 tablespoons of water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and cook for 6 to 7 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium low heat. As the butter bubbles it will start to turn brown and give off a nutty aroma. Once it has reached a light brown color, add garlic, cooked and drained green beans and pine nuts. Toss to combine and saute for 1 minute until heated through. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper.
  • Serve immediately.

2 (1-pound) bags cut green beans, frozen
2 tablespoons water
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
1/2 cup pine nuts
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic and Pepper image

Steps:

  • Heat the oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the green beans, then season with salt and pepper and stir to combine.
  • Add the stock, then bring to a simmer and cover the skillet. Cook until the green beans are bright green and just slightly tender, about 5 minutes. Uncover the skillet and cook until the liquid evaporates and the green beans are tender, 10 minutes more. Stir in the lemon juice and remaining tablespoon butter and season with additional salt and pepper.

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, grated or minced
1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 cup chicken stock
Juice from 1/2 lemon

Steam/Sauteed Green Beans with Butter and Tarragon image

Steps:

  • Bring the water, butter, salt and green beans to a boil in a Dutch oven or large deep skillet. Cover and steam over medium-high heat until the vegetable is brightly colored and just tender, 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and continue to cook until the liquid evaporates, 1 to 2 minutes longer, adding the tarragon at this point. Saute to intensify flavors, 1 to 2 minutes longer. Adjust seasonings, including pepper to taste, and serve.

1 pound green beans, stemmed
1/3 cup water

Brown Butter Sauteed Green Beans image

Steps:

  • To steam green beans: In a large non-stick skillet, bring 1/2 inch salted water to a boil. Add green beans, cover and steam for 5-7 minutes or until crisp-tender and water has evaporated.
  • Using a colander, strain water off green beans. Set aside.
  • Drain any remaining water from skillet and place over medium heat. Add butter to pan, melt until frothy and watch the pan carefully until the butter begins to brown. Remove from heat and stir in seasonings. Return pan to heat, return green beans to pan, toss in butter mixture and serve immediately.
