Rolled in chopped pecans, this chip-studded spread is wonderful on regular or chocolate graham crackers. Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball image

Steps:

Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth; beat in sugars just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Refrigerate, covered, until firm enough to shape, about 2 hours. , Place mixture on a large sheet of plastic wrap; shape into a ball. Refrigerate, wrapped, at least 1 hour. , To serve, roll cheese ball in pecans. Serve with graham crackers.

This is another TOH recipe. I have made it rolled in pecans as the recipe states and also rolled in mini chocolate chips. I like it better in the chocolate chips but then I will always choose chocolate. I serve this with graham crackers, but I think it would be good on really any type of cracker or plain not to sweet cookie. Cooking time includes chilling time.

In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in confectioners' sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Shape chilled cream cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap with plastic, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Roll the cheese ball in finely chopped pecans before serving.

Steps:

1. In mixer, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add sugars and vanilla and mix until well-combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Gather cold mixture into a ball and cover with plastic wrap. Chill another hour. Roll ball in pecans just before serving.
2. Usually, I skip the ball stage and serve this as a spread without the pecans. It's great on chocolate, cinnamon and honey graham crackers, vanilla wafers, shortbread or butter cookies.
