SLOW COOKER CHERRY AND PINEAPPLE DELIGHT

A good friend gave me this recipe and I converted it for the slow cooker. A great dessert for Sunday afternoon. Serve with ice cream on top.

Slow Cooker Cherry and Pineapple Delight image

Steps:

  • Place cherry pie filling in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place crushed pineapple on top.
  • Mix cake mix and butter together in a bowl. Spread evenly over cherry and pineapple. Sprinkle with walnuts.
  • Cover and cook on High for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or on Low for 3 to 4 hours. Spoon into serving dishes and serve warm.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, melt the butter in the oven.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together flour, white sugar, and milk until smooth. Pour batter into the prepared dish.
  • In a separate bowl, toss pineapple with brown sugar until fruit is well coated. Drop pineapple mixture by spoonfuls into the batter. Sprinkle with cherries.
  • Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden.

Steps:

  • Pour pineapple chunks and cherry pie filling into the bottom of a 9x11 pan. you can mix them, or leave as they are.
  • sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the top.
  • cut butter into pats and place on top of the cake mix, spacing them kinda evenly.
  • bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. it may take a little longer. (our oven is very old and varies from day to day!).
  • serve with ice cream or whipped cream!

Steps:

  • Drain cherries, reserving 1/3 cup juice. Place cherries and juice in a saucepan; add pineapple, sugar and tapioca. Let stand for 5 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, baking powder and salt. Stir in vanilla. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press half into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. , Bring cherry mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally; cook and stir for 1 minute or until thick and bubbly. Pour over crust.   • Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C). Place butter or margarine in a 9x13 inch baking dish and set on oven rack to melt.

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Lightly butter a 8x8x2 inch baking dish.
  • Combine cherry juice, pineapple juice and water in a jar with a tight fitting lid.
  • Add cornstarch and shake until well blended.
  • Pour into a med size saucepan.
  • Add cherries, pineapple and honey.
  • Cook over med heat until thick and bubbly.
  • Add vanilla.
