- Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using two 9-in. round baking pans. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely. , In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and salt until smooth. Fold in cream. , Cut each cake horizontally into 2 layers. Place bottom layer on a serving plate; top with a fourth of the cream mixture. Sprinkle with a fourth of the chocolate. Repeat layers 3 times. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

- Line three 9-in. round baking pans with waxed paper; grease and flour the pans and paper. Set aside., In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and baking powder; add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition., Transfer to prepared pans. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely., For frosting, in a small heavy saucepan, melt chips and butter over low heat. Transfer to a large bowl; cool for 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until smooth., For filling, in a small bowl, beat cream until it begins to thicken. Add the preserves, sugar and liqueur; beat until stiff peaks form., Cut each cake horizontally into two layers. Place bottom layer on a serving plate; spread with 1/2 cup filling. - To make strawberry puree, mash 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries (or frozen strawberries thawed) in blender or food processor. Cover, blend until smooth. Puree should measure 1 cup.
- Move oven rack to lowest position.
- Sift cocoa over contents of cake flour packet, stir to blend. Proceed with mixing cake as directed on package. Bake and cool as directed for 10-inch tube pan. Carefully run knife along side of pan to loosen cake; remove rom pan. Using a serrated knife, slice cake horizontally into four layers.
- Prepare whipped toppying mix as directed on package, using 1 cup nonfat milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Blend in strawberry puree.
- Place bottom cake layer on serving plate; spread with 1/4 of topping. Set next cake layer on top; spread with 1/4 of topping. Continue layering cake and topping. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Slice cake with sharp serrated knife, cutting with gentle sawing motions. Serve sliced cake with strawberry garnishes. Cover; refrigerate leftover cake.

Steps:
- 1. Arrange a rack in the lower third of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- 2. In an electric mixer, cream the 3/4 cup sugar and butter. Add the flour, baking powder, eggs, and salt and beat to mix well. Place in a 9- or 10-inch ungreased springform pan. Cover the top with the plums, skin side down. Mix the cinnamon with the remaining 1 or 2 tablespoons of sugar and sprinkle over the top.
- 3. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the center tests done with a toothpick. Remove and cool to room temperature or serve warm. Serve plain or with vanilla ice cream.

- Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Butter and line the base and sides of a 23cm springform or loose-bottomed cake tin. Put the butter and chocolate into a pan and gently melt together until smooth. Meanwhile, using an electric whisk, beat the eggs and sugar together for 5 mins until billowy and about the thickness of old-fashioned custard.
- Pour the chocolate and butter mix into the whisked egg and sugar, then fold it in very carefully using a large metal spoon. Mix the flour, almonds and ¼ tsp salt together, then fold into the mix until even. Spoon into the tin and bake for 35-40 mins until evenly set with a slight crust all over the top. Leave the cake to cool until warm, then release from the tin. Dust with cocoa, then cut into wedges.

- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Sift flour, cocoa and 3/4 cup granulated sugar together 3 times; set aside.
- Beat egg whites at low speed in a large mixer bowl until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- Add vanilla, cream of tartar and salt.
- Gradually increase speed to medium while beating in remaining 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, 5 minutes.
- When sugar is incorporated, continue beating to stiff peaks, 2 minutes more.
- Sift one third of dry ingredients over whites; gently fold in with rubber spatula.
- Repeat process 2 more times.
- Pour batter into ungreased 10-inch tube pan.
- Cut through batter to remove air pockets.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes, until top springs back when gently pressed.
- Invert and hang pan on neck of bottle to cool.
- To unmold, run a thin knife around side of pan and tube; invert pan.

- Place egg whites in a large bowl; let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Sift together confectioners' sugar, flour and cocoa three times; set aside. , Add cream of tartar and salt to egg whites; beat on medium speed until soft peaks form. - For filling, in a small saucepan, combine flour, sugar and salt. Stir in milk and syrup until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
