ELLEN'S TAILGATER HOT HAM & CHEESE
I conjured this recipe up years ago in honor of Notre Dame football and the famous tailgate parties. You can do this on the grill or in the oven. Either way, these sandwiches are to die for! With football season coming, I definitely will have to dust off this recipe.

Steps:
- Tear 8 12-inch squares of aluminum foil and place a bun bottom in the center of each. Place about 4 ounces of ham on each bun.
- Place 2 ounces of Swiss and 2 ounces of cheddar cheese on top of ham.
- Lay two dill stackers on top of cheese.
- Apply generous amount of Dijon mustard to the cut side of bun tops and place bun top over sandwich, pressing down firmly.
- Bring sides of aluminum foil up and over, covering the entire sandwich and pinching to seal.
- Place the foil packs on a large cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 400-degree oven for 10 minutes. Serve immediately and enjoy! You may also place on a hot grill for 15 minutes or so if cooking outdoors.
- Serve with chips, potato salad, soup, whatever strikes your fancy. These are especially good on a crisp autumn day!

- Cut rolls in half; place roll bottoms in 13x9-inch pan.
- Cover with ham and Gruyere.
- Spread cream cheese spread onto cut sides of roll tops; place over sandwiches in pan.
- Mix butter, Worcestershire sauce, Parmesan and onion; drizzle over sandwiches. Cover with foil. Let stand 20 min. (You can make these sandwiches ahead of time and refrigerate overnight.)

Steps:
- 1. Sauce: butter, brown sugar, yellow mustard, worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds. Heat all of these ingredients in saucepan on stove until warm and dissolved.
- 2. Slice the rolls in half. Pile ham and cheese on rolls and then put the tops back on them. Place the rolls in a 9 x 13" pan. Pour warm sauce over the top of the prepared sandwiches. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes! Yields 12 dinner roll size sandwiches but you should probably allow at least 2 per person. These are quite tasty!!
SASSY HAM AND CHEESE SANDWICHES
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, chives and thyme. Mix until well combined and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the butter, onions, Parmesan and Worcestershire sauce. Set aside in a warm spot to keep the butter from solidifying.
- Cut all 12 rolls in half. Place the roll bottoms in a 9- by 13-inch pan. Place equal amounts of ham (about 3 slices) on each roll. Top with the gruyere. Spread a generous amount of the chive and cream cheese on the roll tops. Place the tops on top of each sandwich bottom.
- Pour the butter mixture over the top of the sandwiches. Cover with foil and bake until the cheese is melted, about 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes to toast the buns.
HAM AND CHEESE SLIDERS RECIPE

- In a separate bowl melt the butter and add the Worcestershire sauce, onion, and Parmesan cheese.
- Pour over your sandwiches and let sit for about 20 minutes.
- Cover the baking pan with foil and bake for 20 minutes or until heated through.

OVEN HOT HAM & CHEESE SANDWICHES
Made these inspired by Pioneer Woman and they were soooo yummy. Love that you can make so many variations and I think the #1 trick is them being in the oven and all that yumminess melting together! Small Hawaiian rolls would also work really well with these. The mayonnaise can be substituted for melted butter as well.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine dressing ingredients and spread on top and/or bottom of buns, spooning over tops as well, if you like.
- Add ham.
- Add cheese.
- Wrap each sandwich in a square foil.
