GINGER COSMOPOLITAN
Known informally as the "cosmo," this hip cocktail gets a snappy flavor boost with the addition of fresh ginger.

Steps:
- In bottom of cocktail shaker, muddle gingerroot. Add ice, vodka, liqueur, cranberry juice and lime juice; shake until blended. Pour into chilled martini glass, straining out ice and gingerroot. Garnish with lime wedge.

Mash with muddler or end of wooden spoon until lime wedges are crushed. Add ice, shake well. Strain between two prepared glasses.

Steps:
- Run 1 lime quarter around rims of 2 Martini glasses. Place 3 T sugar on small plate. Dip rims into sugar. Place all lime quarters, 1 T sugar, vodka, lime juice, and ginger in a cocktail shaker. Mash with muddler or end of a wooden spoon until lime wedges are crushed. Add ice; shake well.
- Strain mixture between prepared glasses. Garnish with sliced lime.

GINGER COSMOPOLITAN
This is adapted from a Stone's recipe. The recipe calls for citrus infused vodka but I didn't have any so used a smaller amount of home-made limoncello instead. Using limoncello makes it lovely & sweet on the palate, next time I'll try the citron to see how the flavour differs.
