Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, water, soy sauce and honey until smooth; set aside., In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry shrimp in 1 teaspoon peanut oil and the sesame oil until shrimp turn pink. Remove and keep warm., Stir-fry asparagus in remaining peanut oil for 2 minutes. Add the ginger, garlic, pepper flakes and sesame seeds; stir-fry 2 minutes longer or until asparagus is crisp-tender., Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add shrimp; heat through. Drain pasta; serve with shrimp mixture.,

Ginger Sesame Asparagus image

Steps:

  • Bring a pot of water to boil, add salt and asparagus and cook for 1 minute.
  • Remove and rinse asparagus in cold water, drain well on paper towels.
  • In a small bowl whisk together hoisin, rice wine and sesame oil.
  • Heat peanut oil in a large skillet.
  • Add sesame seeds to center of the pan and cook until the seeds are browned, about 5 minutes.
  • Add ginger and garlic and cook 1 minute.
  • Add hoisin mixture, asparagus and salt.
  • Stir often until asparagus is coated and heated through, 1 minute.

8 ounces thin asparagus, sliced on the diagonal into 2 inch pieces
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons rice wine
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Steps:

  • 1. Whisk first 3 ingredients in a bowl. 2. In large skillet, heat peanut oil and sesame seeds. Add ginger and garlic; stir-fry 30-60 seconds. Add hoisin mixture and stir. Add asparagus and salt(check saltiness first). Sauce should have a glazy consistency. 3. Add shrimp and cook until done.

2 tsp minced fresh ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp coarse salt

Steps:

  • Whisk together ginger, garlic, oil, and soy sauce.
  • Pour mixture into a large zip top bag. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Marinate shrimp no longer than 15-20 mintues.
  • While shrimp is marinating, preheat grill to medium high heat.
  • Coat grill grid or grill wok with cooking spray.
  • Place shrimp on grill grill and discard unused marinade.

Shrimp and Asparagus With Ginger-Sesame Sauce image

Steps:

  • For the shrimp: combine the first 9 ingredients in a large zip-lock heavy duty plastic bag; seal the bag and marinate in the frig for 1 hour.
  • Remove shrimp from the bag and reserve the marinade.
  • Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add in the asparagus and mushrooms; stir/saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add in the shrimp; cook for 3 minutes or until shrimp are done.
  • Mix together the reserved marinade, water, and cornstarch; add mixture to the skillet.

  • Toss shrimp, cornstarch, red pepper flakes, a pinch of salt, and 1 Tbsp. soy sauce in a medium bowl. Stir vinegar, wine, and remaining 2 Tbsp. soy sauce in a small bowl. Have all your other ingredients prepped and ready to go (once you start cooking, there isn’t a stopping point and you’ll need them handy).
  • Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet (not nonstick) over high. When oil is shimmering and slides quickly across surface of pan, add scallions and ginger and cook, tossing, until scallions are browned and softened, about 2 minutes. Add asparagus and a pinch of salt and cook, tossing often, until asparagus is bright green and crisp-tender, about 4 minutes. Transfer asparagus mixture to another medium bowl.
  • Heat remaining 1 Tbsp. oil in same skillet over high. When oil is shimmering again, add shrimp mixture and arrange in a single layer in skillet. Cook, undisturbed, until shrimp are pink around the edges and first side is golden, about 1 minute. Toss and continue to cook until shrimp are opaque all the way through, about a minute or two longer. Pour in wine mixture and asparagus mixture and cook, tossing briskly, until sauce is thickened and all ingredients are coated, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and taste, then season with more salt, if desired.
