GRANDMA'S LACE COOKIES
This is one of my favorite cookie recipes that has been passed down to me from my Grandmother. Friends and family love them-- they are so addictive!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl in a microwave. Add sugar and stir to combine. Add beaten egg and mix well. Stir in oats, flour, vanilla extract, salt, and baking powder.
- Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden brown, about 8 minutes. Let cool completely before removing cookies from foil.

GRANDMA'S SUGAR COOKIES

Yield 6 dozen 2-1/2-inch cookies or 1-1/2 dozen 4-1/4-inch cookies.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, cream the sugar, butter, vanilla and salt. Add eggs and mix well. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; add to creamed mixture. Chill until firm, about 1 hour., On a floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut shapes with cookie cutters; place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 7-12 minutes (depending on size) or until light golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool completely., In a large bowl, combine the confectioners' sugar, extract and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Tint with food coloring. Decorate cookies as desired.

GRANDMA'S CUTOUT SUGAR COOKIES
My grandma made these every year and it was passed down to my mother and now me.

Steps:
- Beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Add first egg while continuing to beat, incorporating the egg fully before adding the second and beating fully into the mixture. Beat vanilla extract and almond extract into the mixture with the third egg.
- Stir flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together in a separate bowl; add to the wet mixture and beat just until the wet and dry combine into a cookie dough. Shape dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate until chilled, at least 3 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Roll dough out onto a flour-dusted surface and cut with cookie cutters. Arrange cut cookies onto baking sheets.
- Bake cookies in preheated oven until beginning to brown around edges, 6 to 8 minutes.

GRAMMA'S DUSTY COOKIES
We always enjoyed these cookies during the Holidays at Gram's..This was one we could help her make..But mostly we liked licking our fingers when we were done..we loved the powdered sugar we rolled them in...we could never get away with sneaking a few cookies to eat-- the powdered sugar on our faces always gave us away. Loved her...

Steps:
- 1. Heat oven to 350^. Grease cookie sheet. Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and molasses. Blend well.
- 2. Combine flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture --blending well.Cover and chill for 10 minutes.
- 3. Form into ball the size of walnuts and then roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet..Bake for 10-12 minutes..do not brown.
