HOLIDAY CHEESE BALL

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine first seven ingredients. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. , Shape into a ball; roll in walnuts. Cover and refrigerate overnight. , Serve with toasted French bread slices, crackers and/or vegetables.

Steps:

  • Place a sheet of waxed paper on the kitchen counter.
  • Place the butter and 32 of the marshmallows in a 3-quart saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  • Stir in the food color and vanilla until the mixture is evenly colored. Stir in the cereal until it is evenly coated.
  • Lightly spray your hands with cooking spray. For each ball, shape about 1/2 cup cereal mixture into a ball around 1 of the remaining marshmallows. Press the gumdrop pieces into the balls to decorate. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Store the balls in a loosely covered container.

Steps:

  • Process vanilla wafers in a food processor into fine crumbs; transfer to a large bowl. Process peanuts in food processor until finely chopped; add to the crumbs.
  • Stir 1 cup powdered sugar, whiskey, honey, peanut butter, and salt into crumb-peanut mixture. Form mixture into twenty 1 1/2-inch balls.
  • Whisk together cocoa and remaining powdered sugar in a shallow dish. Roll each whiskey ball in cocoa mixture to lightly coat. Chill for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.

My Mom's Holiday Sausage Holiday Balls image

Steps:

  • For the applesauce: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Peel the apples, then thinly slice around the core. Place in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave until the apples are tender, about 5 minutes. Place in a blender with the butter and puree. Set aside.
  • For the sausage balls: Grease a rimmed baking sheet with the oil. Combine the sausage, cheese, pancake mix, chives, a big pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper in a large bowl and mix well. Roll into 1 1/2-inch balls (about the size of a Ping-Pong ball). Place on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer, leaving 1 inch between balls. Bake until cooked through and browned, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with the applesauce.

4 Granny Smith apples

I got this from a friend in Sweden. *Using the coarsest grating disc of the food processor for the ham works perfectly. After you have grated the ham use it for the cheese.

  • Lightly grease jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch.
  • Mix thoroughly the Bisquick, finely chopped, fully cooked ham, and remaining ingredients.
  • Shape mixture into 1 inch balls.
  • Place about 2 inches apart in pan.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm.
