- In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Pour into a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Spread pie filling over fruit mixture; sprinkle with brown sugar. , Cover and bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly. Serve warm.

WARM WINTER FRUIT COMPOTE
Steps:
- Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove cover and simmer an additional 35 minutes or until liquid is reduced to desired consistency. Serve warm with turkey or pork.
- Recipe note: Compote may be made ahead of serving time. Cover and store in refrigerator. Reheat to a simmer for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with sprigs of fresh rosemary, if desired.

HOLIDAY FRUIT COMPOTE
Your crock pot is your friend with a variety of mixed fruits and a few other seasonings. Apples are the major beginning point and fresh apples are a must but you can vary the other fruits to your liking. Great over ice cream, angel food cake, mixed with yogurt or used to glaze chicken or ham.

Steps:
- Place all ingredients in a small crock pot (3 quart).
- If using more dried fruit, add a bit more water.
- If using more fresh fruit, add a bit less water.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours (more time if smoother product desired).
- Mash to a desired consistency with a potato masher.
- Serve by itself or over ice cream, angel food cake or add to morning yogurt.
- Also works as a basting sauce for roast poultry.

- If using fresh fruit rinse the fruit and remove the pits (if applicable) then place the fruit in a large pan/saucepan. If using large fruit, such as peaches, remove the pits and chop into chunks before cooking. Add the sugar and cook over a medium heat for about 6 minutes (add 2 more minutes is using frozen fruit) stirring often. The fruit will soften and release lots of juice.
- Bring to the boil and cook for a couple of minutes. Stir gently so the fruit keeps its shape.Add more sugar to taste at any point during cooking if needed.
- Remove from the heat and serve immediately or wait for the sauce to cool before serving. See Serving Suggestions in post.
