Homestyle Ground Beef Casserole Recipes

Steps:

• Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Mix sugar, salt, garlic salt and tomato sauce into ground beef; simmer until flavors blend, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, cover skillet, and cool to room temperature.
• Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain and cool slightly.

In a medium bowl, stir together noodles, green onions, sour cream, and cream cheese. Spoon noodle mixture into a greased 13X9-inch baking dish. Top with beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheeses. Spray a piece of aluminum foil with cooking spray and place cooking spray side down on top of baking dish to cover. Bake for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 more minutes.

Bring to boil; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Remove form heat. Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook egg noodles in boiling salted water as package directs. Drain. Stir together hot cooked noodles, chopped green onions, sour cream and cream cheese until blended. Spoon noodle mixture into a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. top with beef mixture; sprinkle with shredded cheeses in order listed. Bake, covered, for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 more minutes. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Freeze assembled, unbaked casserole up to 1 month, if desired. Thaw in refrigerator overnight. Bake as directed.
