ITALIAN PARMESAN BREAD

When my grown children come home for visits, they always ask me to make this bread along with their favorite spaghetti dinner. In between times, the easy-to-prepare loaf is a hit at church socials and potluck suppers.

Italian Parmesan Bread image

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add 2 cups flour, 1/4 cup butter, egg, sugar, salt and seasonings. Beat at low speed until mixed, about 30 seconds; increase speed to medium and continue beating for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour and 1/3 cup cheese; beat until smooth. , Cover bowl and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Stir batter 25 strokes. Spread batter into a greased 1-1/2-qt. casserole; brush with melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Bake at 350° about 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes before removing from the casserole.

Parmesan Garlic Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • In a small bowl, mix butter, garlic salt, rosemary, basil, thyme, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese.
  • Spread each half of the French bread with equal portions of the butter mixture. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  • Place bread halves, crusts down, on a medium baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are very lightly browned.

  • All ingredients should be at room temperature.
  • Add ingredients as your bread machine directs or:.
  • Add all liquid ingredients to bread pan.

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  • 2. In a small bowl, mix first three ingredients well. Cut bread into 15 diagonal slices, almost completely the way through. Spread mixture on one side of the each slice.
  • 3. Wrap in heavy-duty aluminum foil, leaving a partial opening at the top. Bake 15 minutes or until heated through.

  • heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • place bread on pan and put into oven for approximately 6 minutes (or until dried, but not toasted, turning half way through) leave oven on.
  • Remove from oven and let bread cool slightly; then add to food processor along with spices (do not add parmesan cheese yet!) ground until desired consistantcy.

Steps:

  • Sprinkle yeast into warm water in a large mixing bowl. Let stand until dissolved. Add sugar, salt, and 1 cup of the flour, Beat well.
  • Add 3 eggs one at a time. Beat until smooth. Beat in butter. Work in finely chopped bell peppers. Gradually add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  • Turn out on floured board. Knead until smooth and satiny. Place in a greased bowl. Butter top of dough lightly. Cover with a kitchen towel. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. Turn out on a floured board. Knead lightly.
  • Roll out into a rectangle about 10 to 16 inches. Beat remaining egg. Blend in cheeses and oregano. Spread cheese filling over dough. Roll up firmly from narrow end. Shape into a round by folding ends underneath. Place in a greased 2 quart round baking dish (preferably one with straight sides about 3 inches high, such as a soufflé or fondue dish). Cover.
