JALAPENO-PECAN CHEESE SPREAD
I like to shape this pepper jelly spread like a Christmas tree around the holidays, but this is a recipe I make year-round. -Charolette Westfall, Houston, Texas

Steps:
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese, cheddar cheese, pecans and green onions until blended. On a serving plate, form mixture into desired shape. Refrigerate, covered, at least 2 hours., In a microwave, warm jelly until melted; spread over cheese spread. Serve with crackers.

This has all the flavor of jalapeno poppers in an easy to make dip! I have mixed the Parmesan cheese in with the dip and omitted the cracker and butter topping, but baked as usual, too.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Cook and stir bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp, about 10 minutes. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
- Stir bacon, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, green onion, and jalapeno peppers together in a bowl; spread into a 9-inch round baking dish.
- Mix crackers, Parmesan cheese, and butter together in a bowl; spread over the top of the cream cheese mixture.
- Bake in preheated oven until bubbly, 20 to 30 minutes.

- Combine jalapeno peppers, Parmesan cheese, Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, and green chilies in a bowl. Cut the top off of the sourdough bread and hollow out the center to create a bowl. Fill the bread bowl with the jalapeno mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

- Add the cream cheese, yogurt or sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella, 1 1/2 cups of cheddar, pimientos, most of the jalapeños, most of the green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to a large mixing bowl and cream together with a spatula, wooden spoon, or electric beater.
- Pour into a 9″ cast iron pan or baking dish. Smooth the top and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella, cheddar, jalapeños, and green onions.
- Bake for 20 minutes then broil for 5 minutes. Let the dip cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
