SIMPLE JAMMY BISCUITS

Steps:
- Heat oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5. Rub the flour, sugar and butter together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Alternatively, you can do this in the food processor. Add enough egg to bring the mixture together to form a stiff dough.
- Flour your hands and shape the dough into a tube, about 5cm in diameter. Cut into 2cm-thick slices and place on a large baking sheet. Space them out as the mixture will spread when baking.
- Make a small indentation in the middle of each slice with the end of a wooden spoon, and drop a tsp of jam in the centre. Bake for 10-15 mins until slightly risen and just golden. Cool on a wire rack.

- Measure the sugar and butter and add them to a large mixing bowl. Using some wooden spoons, (or your mixer) give them a good mix until they are well combined.
- Add the flour to your bowl, then using your hands mix it up then bring it together until it forms a nice dough. Wrap it in cling film and pop it in the fridge for 15 minutes.
- Roll the dough out until it is around half a cm thick. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter. Then using a smaller heart shaped cutter, cut out the middle of half your biscuits.
- Pop your biscuits in the oven for 12-15 minutes. They're donw when they are starting to turn golden brown. Remove them from the oven and leave to cool.
