- In a blender, process the fruit in batches until smooth. Pour into a 3-qt. freezer container. Stir in the water and concentrates. Cover and freeze until icy. To serve, spoon 1/2 cup into a glass; add about 1 cup soda.

- Bring 1 1/2 cups water to a simmer in a medium saucepan. Remove from the heat, add the tea bags and let steep 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags (do not squeeze). Let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Meanwhile, bring 3 tablespoons water, the sugar and ginger to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat; cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool; discard the ginger. Stir the ginger syrup into the tea. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, 2 to 4 hours. Freeze the chopped melon until solid, at least 2 hours.
- Combine half each of the tea ice cubes, frozen melon, ginger ale, lemon juice and mint in a blender and puree until smooth. Divide between 2 glasses. Repeat to make 2 more drinks.

- Transfer melon pieces to a food processor and add lime juice, sugar, thyme, 1/2 cup water and tequila, if desired. Pulse until smooth and slushy, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally. Add water if you prefer a thinner consistency. Add lime juice and sugar to taste.
- Divide among serving glasses and garnish with thyme sprigs. Serve immediately with spoons, or let melt slightly to serve as a drink

Steps:
- To make the watermelon punch bowl, remove thin slice from bottom of melon, allowing it to stand upright. Cut off the top of melon.
- Scoop out melon, leaving about 1 inch shell; reserve all melon.
- Turn melon bowl upside down in a large bowl to drain. Cover and chill.
- In a medium saucepan, combine mint leaves and sugar. Using back of wooden spoon, mash mint with sugar until leaves are bruised.
- Add water; bring to a boil stirring occasionally over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes, then strain.
- In food processor, puree melon in batches to a total of 10 cups of melon puree.
- Place puree in large bowl, add mint syrup, limeade and rum; stir.
- Pour into freezer containers and freeze overnight.
- Right before the party, scoop slush into hollowed out melon with a scoop for serving.
