Coca-Cola Condensed Milk Crock Pot Pulled Pork Recipe - (3.7/5) image

Steps:

  • Cut up the onions and garlic, although i think this may be unnecessary since they will be thrown out after cooking. Throw them into the crock pot. Pour about half of the Coca-cola into the crock pot. Pour in the can of condensed milk. Add the salt, pepper, sambal, and liquid smoke. The 1tsp salt is very little. If you taste the sauce, it may be a little bland. I prefer it this way as you can add salt to taste in the mixture that gets poured onto the meat at the end. Carefully place the pork in the crock pot . Add the rest of the Coca-Cola to the pot to cover the pork. Cook on low for 8- 12 hours. After the pork is cooked, let it cool for a bit. Remove the meat from the crock pot into a pan. Remove the bones, skin, and excess fat from the meat. Easier to place the meat and excess (bones, skin, and fat) in separate containers. With the bones removed, shred the meat with forks by pulling the meat apart (hence, pulled pork). Strain about two cups of the liquid left over and salt to taste. I recall other recipes adding more ingredients to the liquid, so go ahead and experiment if you want to. We do not have a fine strainer so some chunks were still left in. Use a fat separator to cut down on the oil. Pour this over the meat and mix thoroughly. Place whatever size you want on your buns, add BBQ sauce, mayonnaise (wife likes it with a little mayo on the buns), and enjoy.

1 (5-7 lb) pork shoulder
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1 cup onions, diced (not sure if necessary to cut up in little pieces)
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sambal (chili pepper paste)
3 teaspoons liquid smoke (I like smoky flavored stuff)
2 liter Coca-Cola
1 14oz can condensed milk
1 barbecue sauce of choice

SLOW COOKER COCA-COLA PULLED PORK

It is almost time for that time of the year when the weather is amazing and we are able to eat outside with friends and family. One of our favorite dishes to make when serving food for a group is my Slow Cooker Coca-Cola Pulled Pork. You literally put everything into the slow cooker, cook, and shred the meat. One pork roast is...

  • 2. Mix spices and barbecue sauce together and pour over the pork roast.
  • 3. Pour Coca-Cola over the roast.
  • 4. Cover and cook on high for 5 hours or low for 10 hours.
  • 5. Cut roast in half and carefully remove from slow cooker and place in a large bowl.
  • 6. Remove and discard bones.
  • 7. Reserve 1/2 cup of liquid from the slow cooker and dispose of the rest.
  • 8. Shred meat using two forks until all the large pieces are broken up.
  • 9. Add reserved liquid and add barbecue sauce. Depending on how saucy you wish it to be will determine how much to add. Stir well.
  • 10. Set heat to low and cook 30 more minutes before serving.

1 pork shoulder or pork butt
12 oz coca-cola
1 1/2 Tbsp onion powder
1 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder

CROCK POT COCA-COLA PULLED PORK

This is a modified version of a friend's recipe for pulled pork. Hers is always a hit at potlucks. The only revisions I made to her original recipe were to suit my family's taste. This is the easiest, tastiest pulled pork. Set the Crock Pot before you leave the house for work and return home to a wonderful aroma and a main dish that is ready when you are. It turns out slightly sweet and smokey with a hint of heat. The Coca-Cola makes the meat fall-off-the-bone tender. I could make my own barbecue sauce but choose to use Famous Dave's Rich & Sassy sauce instead. It's easier, and my family loves it! Use your favorite brand of barbecue sauce if Famous Dave's brand is unavailable in your area. Serve on a burger bun or on its own and enjoy!

Steps:

  • Place roast in a 5 quart crock pot. Season with garlic, onion, black pepper and cayenne pepper. Add liquid smoke and pour in Coca-Cola until it reaches nearly the top of the roast (or covers it depending on the cut of meat).
  • Set Crock Pot on low heat and cook for 8-10 hours.
  • When ready to serve, remove roast from Crock Pot to a platter. Remove any bones and trim all fat. With a fork, begin "pulling" pork apart into thin shreds. Add barbecue sauce and fold into meat.
  • Serve pulled pork on a burger bun or on its own.
  • Note: If preparing this dish for a potluck, pour 1 cup of Crock Pot liquid into a measuring cup and discard the remainder. Then return pulled pork to Crock Pot, set on warm or low heat setting, add 1/2 cup of reserved liquid (to keep the meat from drying out) and cover until ready to serve. If the meat is in the Crock Pot for more than one hour, add more liquid as needed for moisture.

1 (4 -5 lb) pork roast (shoulder or butt)
2 teaspoons garlic, minced, dehydrated
2 teaspoons onions, minced, dehydrated
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, ground
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 liter Coca-Cola (or other brand of cola)
1 (20 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (I use Famous Dave's Rich & Sassy)

  • Season the pork with the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Transfer the pork to a small enameled cast-iron casserole. The pork should fit snuggly - this will prevent the meat from drying out while cooking. Add the Coca-Cola and 1/2 cup of water.
  • Transfer the casserole to the stovetop and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to moderate and add the bay leaves, thyme sprigs and tarragon leaves. Cover and simmer until the pork is very tender and the liquid has almost evaporated, about 1 1/2 hours. Using tongs, transfer the cooked pork to a cutting board, tent with foil and let cool slightly. Using two forks, shred the meat into bite size pieces. Serve the shredded pork in warm corn tortillas with salsa verde, onion, cilantro, radishes and lime wedges.
