EASY CABBAGE CASSEROLE

This is a quick and easy recipe and is so delicious! This cabbage casserole is a favorite at family reunions and church suppers. Even the kids love it!

Easy Cabbage Casserole image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix cabbage, Cheddar cheese, onion, cream of celery soup, and butter in a large bowl. Mixture will be dry. Transfer to a large baking dish, spreading vegetables evenly; sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil.
  • Baked in preheated oven for 45 minutes and remove foil. Continue baking until bubbly and lightly browned, about 15 minutes more.

Awesome Cabbage Casserole image

Steps:

  • Coarsely chop cabbage in large casserole dish sprayed with PAM.
  • Sprinkle onion on top of cabbage.
  • Pour melted butter over cabbage.
  • Sprinkle with salt.
  • Mix Mayo and soup together and then spread over cabbage and onions.
  • For topping, mix together melted butter, crushed crackers and grated cheese.
  • Sprinkle over top of casserole.
  • Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until bubbly and brown.
  • Enjoy!

  • Spray a pie pan or 8 inch square baking pan with cooking spray.

I got this recipe from my SIL when she made it for breakfast one morning while we were at the beach for DD #2's wedding. She made 2 pans of it and they were both gone before I could turn around twice. Since then, the recipe has been passed around to everyone in the family and gets rave reviews. For the sausage, my family chooses a HOT version as they like theirs spicy.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray a 13 X 9 inch pan with Pam.
  • Cook sausage with jalapenos until done then drain well.
  • Once drained, spoon the sausage into the baking dish.
  • Add the cheese and butter to the hot grits and stir until they are melted.
  • Combine eggs and milk and stir well; then pour the egg mixture into the grit mixture and mix until well blended.
  • Pour this mixture over the sausage and bake uncovered for one hour.
  • Garnish with cheese and more jalapenos if you desire.
