FRESH STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIES

This light, 140 calorie strawberry smoothie recipe option is perfect for a quick breakfast or as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Fresh Strawberry Smoothies image

Steps:

  • Place the strawberries in a strainer and rinse under cold running water. Gently pat dry with paper towels. Reserve 4 strawberries for the garnish. Cut out the hull, or "cap," from the remaining strawberries with the point of a paring knife.
  • In a blender or food processor, place the strawberries, milk and yogurt.
  • Cover; blend on high speed about 30 seconds or until smooth. Pour into glasses. Garnish each with a strawberry.

Steps:

  • 1. Place strawberries and water in blender. Cover and blend on medium-high speed until slushy. Blend on medium speed until smooth. Transfer to 2-cup measure. 2. Wash and dry blender. Place frozen yogurt and reduced-fat yogurt in blender. Cover and blend on medium speed until smooth. 3. Place crushed candy cane on small plate. Pipe decorating gel around rim of two 12-ounce glasses. Dip rims into crushed candy. 4. Carefully pour yogurt mixture and strawberries at the same time into glasses, creating a half-and-half design. Serve with large drinking straws if desired.

1/4 cup(s) water
