OOEY GOOEY CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW CAKE

My Gram always made this simple cake...we loved it and still do...think of her every time I make it for my kids...enjoy!

Ooey Gooey Chocolate Marshmallow Cake image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish or pan. Set aside. Place cake mix, beaten eggs, oil and water in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium till all is moist. Beat on high for another minute or two. Fold in the chocolate chips and marshmallows. Spread evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 20 - 25 minutes. It's hard to check this cake for doneness, due to the chips and marshmallow...I try to find a spot in the center of just cake and test with a pick...it's usually done between 20 - 25 minutes. Let cool; slice into squares. Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Mix cake mix, butter, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Pat into the prepared pan.
  • Mix cream cheese, cocoa powder, and remaining eggs together in another bowl with an electric mixer. Beat in powdered sugar slowly. Pour over cake layer in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Let cool.

  • Preheat oven to 350 and grease 8x8 pan.
  • Melt unsweetened chopped chocolate, chocolate chips, and butter in a saucepan on very low heat. Stir together and cool slightly.
  • Beat together eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  • Beat in chocolate mixture.
  • Mix flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  • Stir into chocolate mixture until just blended. Stir in mini-marshmallows.
  • Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Transfer pan to wire rack and cool completely before cutting the brownies into squares.
