CHICKEN NUGGET PARMESAN

Chicken Nugget Parmesan image

Steps:

  • Bake the chicken nuggets according to the package instructions, ensuring that the chicken is cooked through and hot. Remove the pan and turn the oven to a medium broil setting.
  • Top each chicken nugget with approximately a teaspoonful of marinara, a touch of Italian seasoning, a few red pepper flakes and a pinch of the Parmesan. Next, add a piece of the provolone to the top of each nugget. Place under the broiler until the provolone has melted and is beginning to brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Transfer to a platter and top with the basil.

16 frozen chicken nuggets (round or dinosaur shape)
1 cup marinara sauce (smooth)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup freshly shredded Parmesan
4 slices provolone, cut into fourths
Fresh basil, chiffonade, for garnish

Steps:

  • Place butter in a shallow bowl. Combine the bread crumbs, cheese and salt in another shallow bowl. Dip chicken in butter, then roll in crumbs., Place in a single layer on two 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake at 375° for 15-18 minutes or until no longer pink, turning once. Serve with marinara sauce if desired. Freeze option: Cool chicken nuggets. Freeze in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Place on a baking sheet and reheat in a preheated 375° oven 7-12 minutes or until heated through.

Steps:

  • In a 12 inch skillet, heat pasta sauce with chicken nuggets until chicken is heated through.
  • Sprinkle top with shredded mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with lid for a few minutes, just until cheese melts on top. Can serve over pasta for a great meal!
