Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the two flours, the powdered milk, oatmeal, peanut butter and wheat germ. With the mixer on low speed, add the extra-large egg and 1 cup of water and mix just until it forms a slightly sticky ball.
- Dump the dough out on a well-floured board (I use all-purpose flour) and knead it into a ball. Roll the dough out 1/2-inch thick. Dip a cookie cutter in flour and cut out dog bone shapes. Collect the scraps, knead lightly, roll out again and cut more dog biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared sheet pan and brush with the egg wash. Sprinkle with oatmeal and bake for 1 hour, until completely hard. Cool and toss.

I find that all dogs seem to like peanut butter...you can add anything you want to the mixture as long as theres the peanut butter! Be sure to turn biscuits over half way through, we don't want dark bottoms, do we now?!!!

- If your dog has allergies, you can substitute rice flour, coconut flour or any other type of flour that is suitable for your dog. You can also substitute 1/2 cup of applesauce for the egg if needed.
- Combine the flour, baking powder and egg in a small mixing bowl. Add the peanut butter, water and honey. I heat the peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds to soften it and make it easier to mix.
- You can roll the dough out onto a floured surface and use cookie cutters to make the individual biscuits. I take the easy road and place spoonfuls of the dough on a well-greased cookie sheet. Then I just squish them down with a fork.
