POLYNESIAN PORK LOIN

Steps:
- Rub 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper over roast. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour., Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the water, pineapple, tomato paste, brown sugar, onion, green pepper, vinegar, ginger and remaining salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Reserve 1-1/4 cups sauce; set aside., Pour remaining sauce over roast. Bake 1-1/2 to 2 hours longer or until a thermometer reads 160°, basting occasionally. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining sauce.

POLYNESIAN PORK CHOPS
Steps:
- Season the pork with the garlic powder.
- Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and cook until well browned on both sides.
- Add the onion, soup, water, pineapple with juice, soy sauce and honey to the skillet and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes or until the pork is cooked through. Serve the pork and sauce with the rice and sprinkle with the green onion.
- Serving Suggestion: Serve with steamed sugar snap peas. For dessert serve fresh strawberries.

Porks steaks, pineapple and green pepper smothered in a sweet and tangy sauce. I came up with this recipe to have something different on pork steaks and combining several other recipes. Note: You can use regular preserves and brown sugar if wanted you may need more brown sugar.

- Preheat oven to 350.
- Spray 2 - 9x13-inch cake pans with cooking spray.
- Lay the pork steak in the pans.
- Mix the sauce together and pour equal amounts over each steak.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

BRAISED HAWAIIAN PORK SHOULDER
Steps:
- Special Equipment: Butcher's twine
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, Hawaiian salt, paprika, cumin, coriander and black pepper.
- Cut the pork into 4 equal portions, then tie each cut with some butcher's twine. Lightly sprinkle each piece with 1 1/2 teaspoons of the spice mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
- Heat 3 tablespoons canola oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Sear each cut of pork on all sides, then transfer them to a plate. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon canola oil to the same pot along with the onions, ginger, and garlic. Saute for 2 minutes. Pour in the pineapple juice and chicken stock and return the pork to the pot. Cover put the pot into the oven to braise until the pork is fork tender, about for 2 1/2 hours.
- Remove the pork from the Dutch oven and arrange the pieces on a baking sheet. Sprinkle each piece with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of the spice mixture and put them under a low broiler until their tops are brown and crisp but not burned, about 2 minutes. Transfer the pork to a serving platter and serve with a drizzle of braising liquid.
- Serve the pork with the Mashed Parsnips and Celery Root, if desired.
POLYNESIAN PORK STEAKS

Steps:
- Trim fat from steaks.
- In large skillet cook the fat until you get a small amount accumulated, discard the rest of the trimmings.
- Brown steaks in the hot fat.
- as they are browning season generously with salt.
- Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour over steaks.
- Cover, and simmer 35 to 40 minutes or until meat is tender and done.
- Remove meat to a warm platter, spoon sauce over them and serve.

- 1. Trim fat from steaks. In a large skillet brown steaks on both sides in hot oil. Drain off fat. Transfer steaks to 3 1/2-4 quart slow cooker.
- 2. In a bowl combine undrained pineapple, sweet peppers ,brown sugar, tacioca, ketchup, soy sauce and dry mustard; pour over steaks.
- 3. Cover; cook on high setting for 3 1/2-4 hours. Skim and discard fat from suace. Serve meat and sauce over hot cooked rice. Sprinkle with macadamia nuts. If desired.

- Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook pork chops until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes on each side.
