QUAKER OATS FAMOUS OATMEAL COOKIES (OLDER VERSION)
I got this recipe inside a container of Quaker Oats a long long time ago. These cookies are SOOO GOOD!

Steps:
- (Heat oven to 350 degrees).
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy.
- Add combined dry ingredients; mix well.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 12-15 minutes.
- Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
- Store tightly covered.
- *OPTIONAL: Add 1 c of any combination: raisins, chopped nuts, semisweet chocolate or flaked coconut.
- **For larger cookies, drop by rounded tablespoonfuls, bake 12-14 minutes at 375 degrees.

Cool completely. Store tightly covered.
