Steps:
- Mix flours, salt, curry powder, onion, cumin, garlic and dissolved yeast mixture.
- Add chopped spinach and mix to combine (make sure spinach is evenly dispersed).
- Add water and mix to a soft dropping consistency.
- Leave to rise for no more than one hour.
- Remove by the tablespoon and drop into hot oil.
- Take out with slotted spoon and drain on kitchen towel paper.

Sawine is a Muslim sweet for Eid from Trinidad and Tobago. I got that recipe from a sister from Trini. I haven't tried it yet but God Willing I will this year. There are also rice vermicelli available on the market, for those who eat Gluten-free.

Steps:
- 1) In a heavy skillet, parch vermicelli until golden brown. (It helps to break the vermecelli into small pieces and parch with some butter or ghee).
- 2) In a large deep pot bring water, cinnamon and salt to a boil.
- 3) Add vermicelli and cook on low heat until most of the water has evaporated and vermicelli is tender.
- 4) Add milk, sugar to taste, almond, raisins and cherries and cook for a minute or two.

- If using fresh spinach, place in a medium bowl and pour enough hot water to cover. Drain in a colander after two minutes.
- In the same bowl, add all ingredients, except oil, and mix to combine. Gradually add water and mix to thoroughly incorporate. The dough should be sticky and soft. Allow the dough mixture to rest for 20-30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a medium pot over medium heat. With oiled hands, pinch off pieces and form into a small disc.
- Place into pot, 3 – 4 at a time, depending on the size of the pot, and fry until the bottom is golden brown.
